What is PowerPoint?
PowerPoint is Microsoft's basic
presentation software. It arranges information into "slides" or
digital note cards. These slides can incorporate text, images,
video files, audio files, and hyperlinks. The most common use of a
PowerPoint presentation is as an aid to a lecture or speech.
How do I access PowerPoint?
On the RBHS system, you can access
PowerPoint by selecting it from the "Microsoft" menu of the Novell
Application Launcher.
Why Would I Use PowerPoint in a
classroom?
If you have a lecture based lesson,
PowerPoint can be an excellent tool for you as a teacher to incorporate
visual media into your lecture. It also allows you to have bullet
point information appear for students as you expand upon that
information in your lecture.
If your students are making oral
presentations in class, PowerPoint can enrich those presentations when
used properly.
More and more in the business world,
PowerPoint is becoming part of the model for presenting information.
