Site Annotation

Russia and the Former Soviet Republics Maps

This site contains various types of maps of Russia and its region.  If you lack a COW with a projector, you could print one on a transparency.

Russia: A Country Study

This site was put together by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress, and it contains historical links to periods in Russian history.  The information would be a good supplement to the book, which is often very general in its coverage of Russian history.

Russia: Selected Internet Resources (Portals to the World, Library of Congress)

This site contains links that are divided by subject, including history, culture, geography, etc.  I would use it to start a general search for reliable internet resources on a given topic

Current Events in Russia v.07

This site contains links to Russian newspapers that are translated into English.  It would be great for current events.

Documents Related to the Cold War

This site is simply a list of links to primary source documents.  They mostly deal with the United States, but you will be able to find sources from the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe.
