United States Department of Education site designed to help students and their families prepare academically and financially for college.

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is designed to obtain, on an annual basis, information from scores of colleges and universities nationwide about student participation in problems and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development.  The results will  provide an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college.

Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC)  is a on-stop financial aid center, offering a comprehensive array of programs and services.  At every stage of the financial aid process, ISAC is there, acting as a centralized source of information and guidance


Occupational Outlook Handbook
When considering potential college majors, students may check out employment trends in the electronic version of the Occupational Outlook Handbook.  The entire handbook is searchable by keyword.

The U. S; Department of Education's newest and fastest way to apply for federal student aid.

This database includes information on skills, abilities, knowledge, work activities, and interests associated with occupations.

eCampus Tours.com is a revolutionary college planning web site featuring 360 x 360 degree virtual college tours of over a thousand college campuses.  Each virtual coompus tour allows you to see what campus life is really like through unique iPIX virtual tour.  You can also view college planning information about choosing a college, student financial aid, campus life, career exploration, student loans, scholarships and more.

Sponsored by Sallie Mae, this online scholarship service is one of the most comprehensive sources of financial aid resources fro college.  It provides searchable databases including information about scholarships, fellowships, grants, work study, loan programs, tuition waivers, internships, competitions, and cooperative work programs. Also has a link to Study Abroad programs. 

CISCO's Education-to-Careers program was developed to provide interested individuals and educators with information on union apprenticeship programs. This site provides information on testing, application availability, working conditions, entry procedures, and skills necessary to succeed in a union apprenticeship program.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security website provides several online tools for career exploration, access to current labor market reports and other workforce and occupational information that can be useful in making career decisions.

Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives.
