Documents of Freedom

Toward the end of the 18th century, two nations fought for the opportunity to govern themselves. Though separated by an ocean both set forth their ideals in very special documents.  Despite their separation, both the American and French revolutions shared many of the same core beliefs.

The Task:

Read both the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizens and the excerpts from America's Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.  On a separate sheet of paper, list as many similarities between these two documents.  When citing a similarity, specific quotes from the documents must be included.  The minimum number of citations is six. Anything below that, will receive a failing grade.
